If you are running a Windows 64 bit operating system (e.g. Server 2008/Windows 7 etc) and get an error when trying to launch Call Collector (not Call Collector Windows Service), OR the grey handset icon for Call Collector comes up breifly and then vanishes then ....see below (The Call Collector Windows Service also needs this file but will not display an error message. The solution above will work for both Call Collector and Call Collector Windows Service)
Download this file (DO NOT RUN FROM WEB SITE)
When downloaded, locate the file and right click on it and select 'Run as Administrator'
The file will be installed to the windows\syswow64 directory. You may get an error message saying the file failed to register. If so, repeat ("Right click the file, Run as Administrator'). The second time it should work. Seriously...run it twice.
Try running Call Collector now.
