The
standard 'Call Collector' executable program can not be run as a
'Service' but an optional
module is available for purchase to provide this facility.

TROUBLESHOOTING
PC
Start up
Path
75 error
Database not in default folder
Show button not working
PC Start up
If you have previously been running the normal 'non service' Call
Collector remember
to delete it from the Startup menu otherwise it will try and launch
at the same time as
the Service Call Collector and create a conflict on the database.
Right-click on the START button, and then Explore, and click
on Programs under the highlighted 'Start Menu' folder, then click
on 'Start up' and in the right hand window, select Call Collector
and delete it.
Path
75 error
If you receive an error mesaage (eg Path 75) after starting the
Call Collector
then this indicates that step 6 and 9 above has not been carried
out correctly.
Go to Start/Programs/Call Collector Service Access and then 'STOP'
Then carry out Steps 6 to 10 again.
If the error has caused the service to hang your only option is
to re-boot the computer.
Database not in default folder
If you have located the database on a different drive to the Call
Collector
and are running the Call Collector as a service you may get an error
saying
that the database is not available. This is normally a Permissions
issue where the
Call Collector Service itself has not been given adequate rights.
Copy the link below into your Internet browser and follow the instructions
from the MicroSoft Web site.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/en/advanced/help/default.asp?url=/windows2000/en/advanced/help/sys_srv_configure_startup.htm
Show
button not working
There
is also a on-going issue with some sites not 'showing' the Call
Collector screen when 'Show' is clicked.
It seems that the best solution to this to do a complete de-installation
and re-installation.
Control Panel-Add/Remove programs and remove Call Collector Service
Then registry editor and delete the PABX folder in Hkey_Current_User/Software/VB
and VBA program settings.
Then delete Call Collector Service folder in Program Files/PABXSoft.
Then install the Call Collector Service.exe (without the upgrades)
Then start Reports and locate the database and re-register (this
is need because registry entry deleted)
Then start up the normal Call Collector and close it down (this
is also re-establishing registry entries)
Then start up Call Collector service access program and register
DLL and wait a few seconds
Then click on Install and wait a few seconds
Then click on Start and wait a few seconds
Then click on Show and the screen should come up (but old version
which does have a Close Window option-don't use it!)
Then click on Hide wait a few seconds and then Stop and wait a few
seconds
Close Service access screen
Finally, unzip the latest Call Collector Service upgrade Open Service
Access screen and register new DLL and wait a few seconds
Then Start and wait, then Show and hopefully it works correctly
now!
